The ability to move freely everywhere provides us with a sense of freedom and this is possible only due to the flexibility in the joints of the body, such as, knees, wrists and hips. Arthritis is a medical condition in which you feel an inflammation in either one or more of your joints, which restricts your movements, thus creating hindrance in free movement of your joints.

Even though various medications and drugs are available in the market nowadays, to get relief from the inflammation faced while suffering from arthritis, home remedies are the best way of curing this disease. Some of the amazing home remedies to get relief from arthritis are mentioned below:

  1. Turmeric and Ginger Tea

This is considered to be an extremely beneficial cure for arthritis. Since both turmeric as well as ginger are anti-inflammatory agents, this tea provides immense relief from inflammation. Turmeric contains an antioxidant, known as, curcumin. Boil 2 cups of water with half a tablespoon each of ground turmeric and ginger and after it boils for around 10-15 minutes, strain the tea, add honey and drink it. Consuming this tea at least twice daily will yield better results.   

 

  1. Epsom Salt

This is yet another product that works wonders for those suffering from arthritis. The magnesium sulphate present in Epsom salt is known to be highly beneficial in providing relief from pain. Just take bowl of warm water and add half a cup of Epsom salt to it. After mixing it well, soak your joints in this water for a few minutes. You will notice the difference immediately. An alternate way is to take a bath with Epsom salt water.

 

  1. Peppermint and Eucalyptus Oil

A mixture of peppermint and eucalyptus oil is the perfect cure for those suffering from arthritis. Both peppermint as well as eucalyptus have properties which help in providing relief from  pain and providing a cooling sensation, which is extremely helpful in reducing the inflammation cause due to arthritis. Prepare this mixture by adding together around 5 to 10 drops each of peppermint oil and eucalyptus oil with 1 to 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Apply it on your joints whenever the pain occurs.

  1. Virgin Olive Oil

Another great remedy to cure arthritis, is Virgin Olive Oil. It acts as a lubricant and helps in easing the pain caused due to this disease. Olive oil contains an ingredient, known as, oleocanthal, which is extremely beneficial in getting rid of the inflammation caused due to arthritis. Massaging your joints with olive oil twice a day will yield effective results. An alternate way is by consuming 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil daily, but since this oil contains high amount of calories, you should maintain your diet accordingly.

  1. Dandelion Leaves

A rich source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, Dandelion Leaves are considered to be extremely effective in repairing damaged tissues, and in eliminating toxins from the blood. The linoleic acid present in dandelion leaves have anti-inflammatory properties which helps in reducing the inflammation. You can prepare dandelion tea by boiling 1 cup of water with 3 teaspoons of fresh or dried dandelion leaves. After it boils for a few minutes, strain the tea, add honey for taste and consume it at least twice daily for quick results.

  1. Cayenne Pepper

Another highly important and effective cure for arthritis, is Cayenne Pepper. An ointment prepared with cayenne pepper is considered to extremely beneficial in treating this disease. The capsaicin ingredient present in it helps in providing great relief from the pain. You can prepare the ointment yourself by mixing together half a cup of cocoa butter, 2 tablespoons of cayenne pepper and some coconut oil. Now, apply this mixture on the joints to get relief from the pain. You can also prepare another mixture by adding together 1 cup of apple cider vinegar and half a cup of cayenne pepper. Add this mixture to warm water and soak your feet in this water for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
